Whew! It’s the beginning of July and I’m already over it. Summer is canceled. Take it away, please. The heat index last week was 100+ degrees and there will NEVER BE ANY GOOD REASON FOR THAT!

Can you tell I have a lot of feelings right now?

Well, buckle up for some more because…

These are my confessions……..

Mission Acquisition July 2018

So things are going to be a little bit different this month.

As you may have noticed I have partially fallen off the face of the earth. Language study hasn’t entirely been on the top of my priority list. Everything has been a whirlwind of terror and excitement for the past month and, yeah. I’m still wrapping my head around a lot of stuff. Let’s list them! Because lists are awesome.

I’m (sorta?) unemployed

I say sorta because technically I have a way to get a little bit of money coming in, but it’s not a lot. Lemme back up though.

June 1st was my last day at my regular degular 9-5 job. It offered me a lot of opportunities and the pay was good (although not nearly enough for the work I was doing, let’s be real), but it was definitely time to move on. The problem with moving on is now ya girl don’t have a regular paycheck. And money is a necessity.

So the plan is to finally start offering my services as an English language coach starting next month. Yaaaaaaaay!

I truly do love to help English language learners reach their goals and I’m excited to achieve my goal of making a career from it!

I’m doing the absolute most right now

One of the many problems with having a creative mind is that the stream of ideas is never-ending. I’ve been doing my best to take action on at least a few of them.

Topsy Kretts

If you actually get this reference I’m judging you almost as much as you’re probably judging me right now.

A few days after I left my job I took a trip to New York for a week. It was much-needed relaxation and while there, I got to work on a pet project I’m planning to put out in the fall (I made an Instagram post about it). It’s been taking a lot of maneuvering, editing, and emailing but I’m super excited to do something I’ve been wanting to for years now. So keep a lookout because there will be more info about that in the coming months. Heehee.

Staying the course on my course

I have also been contemplating putting out a course forEVAR. Like. It’s kind of ridiculous how long I’ve been brainstorming and researching. I finally stopped being such a baby and decided to get down to business to defeat the Huns. It’s geared specifically around language and travel. If you want to know more about it you can sign up to learn more HERE.

Not all those who wander are lost

I’m also working on something related to the course that is very much in its beginning stages. But I’m still excited!

Ok but studying tho

Ask you can imagine, with everything that’s been going on I have not been 100% with my language study. Closer to like 25% if we’re being real. It’s not that I don’t want to, but…you know. Life.

What I have been doing consistently is meeting with my Korean exchange partner. It’s been really good for keeping my motivation up. I have a couple of new fun books that I’m hoping to use to add some new fun vocabulary to the mix.

For this month I’m not going to make any hard set language goals because I know it’ll just discourage me when I don’t make them. Lol. So I’m just going to do my best and update you guys next month.

Phew, that was a lot.

How are you guys’ language study plans for July?
